In this technologically advanced society, even freedom has a price.
After an alien bacteria infected the population, a small portion of people developed unique abilities based on aspects of their identity. They became globally known as the Enhanced. The city of London descended into chaos, with the emergence of wannabe villains and heroes to combat them. In order to regain control of the Enhanced and restore order, the government turned to Vitality, a private biochemistry corporation. But, corruption followed in its wake and the Enhanced became second-class citizens, constantly monitored and threatened by chips implanted in their spines.
Marauder is an amoral mercenary, one of the few Enhanced to have escaped Vitality’s control and now profiting off the world they’ve created. But, when she’s given a harsh reminder that her sense of free will is still contrived, she has to decide whether to join the fight against corruption or continue to only protect herself.
