A ground-breaking debut from a new fantasy writer.

 A seemingly insignificant nobody is suddenly thrust into the middle of a bloody civil war which will dictate the future of his people.

 The novel is set in a the ruins of a once great Elven Empire. What’s left of the empire is ruled by an authoritarian government, headed by the Emperor and his heir apparent. The nation is in the beginnings of a civil war against an unorganized rebellion. Prince Malagor hears a prophecy which foretells that the empire will collapse due the actions of a single elf. Erindal, is a seemingly insignificant nobody, living a quiet life. He is captured a tortured by the villains, before being rescued by heroes of the rebellion, and is suddenly thrown in the middle of the conflict. One of the leaders of the rebellion, Tanelia, sees Erindal as weak, and they often clash over decisions. The fate of his people seemingly rests on his shoulders, and he struggles to cope with the horrors of the war, and the weight of responsibility he has.
